About Us

Solace
from the Latin solari - 'to comfort, console'The opening of Solace Cancer Care in 2008 marked a new era in patient care for the far North State, introducing the area's only truly independent, comprehensive oncology center dedicated to people affected by cancer.
Solace’s physicians have contributed to our community for years. Many worked with Cancer Care Consultants, including doctors Gregg Carter, M.D., Carolyn Collins, M.D. and Michael Figueroa, M.D. and their outstanding support staff. This medical oncology team partnered with the radiation practice of Dr. Sharon Pereira to establish an integrated cancer center.
Developing this facility involved more than simply merging two practices, which is why we chose a new name. Our commitment to form Solace Cancer Care was rooted in our determination to improve every facet of patient care. The partners invested in a new building with a soothing atmosphere and unsurpassed technology. Co-located services provide maximum convenience for the patients who need them.
In April 2009, the practice was joined by Dr. Vicki Philben, expanding our services to include Surgical Oncology and furthering our commitment to providing complete cancer care in one location.

Most of all, we are committed to providing our patients, their families, their referring physicians and our community with the best possible care and compassion. Our new name reflects this multifaceted investment in our community’s health - during this challenging time, you will find Solace.
